Double Eagle Malt is collaborating with Delaware Valley University in Doylestown to introduce malting barley to the school's agricultural curriculum. Scott Smith, DelVal's Horticultural Production Manager, is taking the lead to grow several production acres of 2-row winter barley for Double Eagle Malt for harvest in 2015 as well as trials on a number of seed varieties. Scott's goal in undertaking the malting barley program is to demonstrate a commercially viable alternative crop for their students.
